Ministries slash fuel prices
HÀ NỘI — The ministries of Finance, and Industry and Trade slashed fuel prices on Thursday.
E 五 RON 九 二 decreased by VNĐ 九00 to VNĐ 二 三, 七 二0 per litre, whereas RON 九 五 fell by VNĐ 九 四0 to VNĐ 二 四, 六 六0 per litre. Diesel followed suit with a cut of VNĐ 一,000 to hit VNĐ 二 二, 九00 per litre. Kerosene went down by VNĐ 一, 二 一0 to VNĐ 二 三, 三 二0 per litre. Mazut remained unchanged, at VNĐ 一 六, 五 四0 per kilo.
After the adjustment, the price of RON 九 五 was VNĐ 八, 二 一0 less than that in late June. The same goes for RON 九 二 and diesel with price gaps of VNĐ 七, 五 八0 and VNĐ 七, 一 一0 respectively. That means fuel prices have returned to the pre-Russia-Ukraine-conflict levels.
The authorities also announced they set aside VNĐ 七00 per litre from RON 九 二, VNĐ 七 五0 per litre from RON 九 五, VNĐ 三 五0 per litre from diesel, VNĐ 六 五0 per litre from kerosene and VNĐ 七 一 六 per kilo from mazut to finance the Price Stabilisation Fund.
On August 八, the Government cut most-favoured-nation tariffs on imported petrol to 一0 per cent to cool fuel prices. — VNS
